Mike began his archery in the Scouts at the age of 17. During a Have a Go at a weekend camp he got bitten by the archery bug.

His first plastic recurve bow and aluminium arrows were soon purchased and he continued shooting until the early 80’s when his career was to take him away from the sport.

Up until the 80’s he was Chairman of the very successful High Elms Archery club based near Watford. Mike’s highlight of his archery then was to represent Hertfordshire County for a number of years.

It was during a house move in 2004 to Leighton Buzzard that Mike’s archery equipment was exposed to daylight from the loft and he hasn’t looked back since.

Mike began shooting again at local clubs before realising that he wanted to start his own club again and it was during a visit to inspect a suitable field that he came across an empty warehouse!

So, at 50 years of age, all his energy was directed into starting an archery training company.

Mike’s shooting hasn’t suffered from the lay off either! His archery has gone from strength to strength and once again he was offered a place in the Hertfordshire County team in 2007 - some 20 years later!

Mike has immersed himself totally into the sport these days, not only qualifying as a level 1 coach but also reading all the latest coaching manuals on modern shooting and performance techniques.

Mike is applying them to his own shooting so as to get a better understanding – and then uses this experience to pass onto other archers.

Mike is also very keen on putting something back into the sport and has been supporting the BWAA at Stoke Mandeville since the start of the business in 2007.
